This was a cake done for my daughter's 8th birthday. She is such a sweet girl. I showed her a picture of a cake with a fondant bow with the curly ribbons on it and she looked at the cake and said she liked it but it was okay if I could not make the bow and stuff. So I had to prove to her that I could do it! This cake is a double layered 10 inch square on the bottom, the middle layer was two 8 inch rounds and the top a 6 inch round. The bottom two layers are pound cake filled with bavarian cream. The top layer is a banana cake. The entire cake is iced in buttercream with fondant accents. The brown accents were chocolate. It was nice to have than hint of chocolate!

Lime Green and Pink Cake
The King's Academy cake
My kids go to a school called The King's Academy. It is a wonderful school and deserves a plug on my blog. They have allowed me to make their birthday cakes this year. They do them quarterly. And best of all, they let me make whatever I want! So this one made to look like a Happy Birthday napkin that I had. I meant to take a picture of them side by side, but I forgot! If you look closely, you can see it covering the cake plate. This yet another lemon pound cake with lemon curd filling and iced in lemon buttercream.

First Birthday Cake
This was for a little boy's first birthday. It was a 14 inch round cake with two different cakes carved into the shape of a cupcake. The candle is a piroette cookie covered in buttercream and edible glitter and the flame on the candle was made out of fondant. The cake is iced in buttercream and the polka dots are fondant too. The sides of the cake were also covered in polka dots. The smaller cake was a smash cake for the baby boy.
Bakugan Cake
I had a customer order Bakugan cake. I had no idea what Bakugan was! I did some research and this is what I came up with. This is a Drago (I think that is what it is called!) ball. I made the explosion on the cake with red, orange and yellow buttercream and the white is done with white chocolate. This was my attempt with white chocolate. It was fun and I can't wait to play with it again!

Snow Man cake
This was a really fun cake made with a Williams Sonoma pan. I wish I was a better photographer and I would have made sure that you could see the "snow" around the bottom of the plate. I guess if I had not put it on a white plate, I would not have needed to be a better photographer! This cake was white spice cake with a cream cheese icing.
